Ingredients
- ¼ cup (25g) rolled oats (quick oats work too)
- 1 tbsp (7g) all-purpose flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp (10g) brown sugar or maple syrup
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- Pinch of sea salt
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 3 tbsp (45ml) milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 tbsp (15ml) neutral oil or melted butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg (essential binder)
- Optional mix-ins: 1 tbsp chocolate chips/raisins
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a 12oz+ microwave-safe mug, whisk oats, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. - Combine Wet Ingredients:
Add milk, oil, vanilla, and egg. Vigorously mix with a fork until just combined (small lumps are okay). - Add Mix-ins (Optional):
Gently fold in chocolate chips or raisins. - Microwave:
Cook uncovered on HIGH for 1 minute 30 seconds. Check doneness (top should be set but slightly moist). If needed, microwave in 10-second bursts (max 2 min 30 sec total). Caution: Mug will be hot! - Rest and Serve:
