Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper (any color), diced
- 3 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cumin (optional)
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Fresh parsley or green onions (garnish)
- Optional: Shredded cheese (cheddar, pepper jack)
Instructions:
1. Sauté Aromatics & Bell Peppers
- Heat oil/butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and bell peppers, sauté for 3-4 mins until slightly softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
2. Brown the Beef
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook until no pink remains (~5-6 mins).
- Drain excess fat if desired (or leave for extra richness).
3. Season & Spice
- Sprinkle paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes over the beef.
- Pour in soy sauce and mix well.
4. Add Cabbage
- Toss in shredded cabbage, stir to combine.
- Cover and cook for 5-7 mins, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
5. Garnish & Serve
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Top with fresh parsley/green onions (and cheese if using).
